Plymouth

Nouri, a well educated member of the Persian gentry, was a Naval cadet when he met his German wife in 1950's while training in Plymouth, England. They were the last flight out before the Ayatollah returned.

The Revolution 

Nouri was an Admiral in the Iranian Navy when the Revolution came. He was forced to send his family to America for safety. Months later he negotiated his own passage with the suspicious Mullahs, just barely getting out.

WW II Shugihara refugee 

Jack was a young boy when the war broke out. His family arranged to emigrate to Japan, becoming  a Shugihara Jew. He traveled through Stalinist Russia by Trans-Siberian Railway all the way to Kobe, Japan. After Pearl Harbor they were relocated to  the Shanghai Ghetto in China.
