Due to the Covid-19 situation, all the city courts were closed all Spring. This included tennis, basketball and baseball.

Now that we are in Phase 3 courts are open. The video was posted on the very day of opening and was a great convergence of news and communications.

The Executive Director tells me that the response has been overwhelming, with people both joining the organization and donating outright.

The RCTA is desperate for funds to operate its programs. More than just operating and maintaining red clay tennis courts (unique in NYC), the RCTA sponsors camps, lessons, concerts, teaches both special needs and public school students. It's both a community and a community organization.

It's been a VERY long spring here in NYC. Between Covid-19, riots, curfews and general upheaval we need a break! To finally play tennis is a great relief.

It was also the first time we used Zoom for interviews. While not perfect, it worked out well. Projects can still move forward using this easy and ubiquitous program.

As a producer, it always feels good to do some good!
